Top of the Island - Things to do
Great activities and things to do are found along the Top of the Island on the Cabot Trail...

At the Top of the Island, Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, we boast the northernmost points in Nova Scotia. Here you can discover the sheer beauty of some of the most rugged and untouched lands in the province as you take in the stunning terrain and churning ocean waves.

Throw on your hiking boots and traverse alongside the cliffs and coastlines of the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the Skyline Trail. Here you can pull out your binoculars and spend an afternoon whale watching from land or water – the Capt. Cox or Oshan Whale Tours are just a short drive away. The Top of the Island is full of beautiful wildlife and is a great place to go bird watching or scanning for other animals including wild horses and goats. Golfers be wary – you may never want to leave! Thrill yourself with limitless golfing at the Highland Links Golf Course.

Head out on a Sea Spray adventure, roam the quaint gift shops and cafés of our small towns, hike, bike, kayak or tap your toes to our soul-felt music. At The Top of the Island, there are many activities for all ages and all seasons!
