Margaree and Area
Discover the charm of Margaree on the Cabot Trail...

Margaree Locator MapThe Margaree River meanders through the Margaree Valley, leading visitors through splendid pastoral landscapes to its harbour along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Designated as a Canadian Heritage River for its natural, cultural and historical value, the Margaree is popular for its salmon, trout and gaspereaux fishing. Nature lovers relish the valley for its canoeing, swimming, hiking and snowmobiling adventures.

The valley is home to the Maritimes second oldest fish hatchery, a popular attraction for children. You will also find the Salmon Museum, hailed by The New York Times as its favourite museum on Cape Breton Island.

Dance to the music of local fiddlers and share their love of song at The Barn .  Visit Margarees most talented quilters shop or chat with the potter of Cape Breton Clay.

Discover Margaree...the way it used to be.
