As well there are festivals throughout the year that celebrate Cape Breton's Music and Culture. 

In March check out the Festival de la Micareme celebrated in St. Joseph du Moine and Cheticamp. This unique festival has been celebrated for over 200 years in the area during mid lent. .


During the summer months there are many festivals around the Cabot Trail from Festival de L'Escaouette which runs from July 1st to late August and features Theatre, and live music in Cheticamp. Belle Cote Days during the last week of July in Belle Cote, Margaree Days during the first week of August, Aviation days in Baddeck and the list goes on. 

During September celebrate Hike the Highlands Festival based in Ingonish,

In October celebrate the musicians and artisans during  Celtic Colours International Music Festival.   


Hike the Highlands  (Sep 11 - 20, 2009) Print Version

Every fall, this 10-day festival features guided-hikes and celebrations on Cape Breton Island. With informed guides and varying degrees of difficulty, these hikes are available for both beginners and seasoned-trekkers alike.
