Non-stop music, festivals and events along the Cape Breton Highlands on the Cabot Trail...
Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia is located in the centre of many of the Cabot Trail’s most beautiful towns. With gorgeous scenery, pristine landscapes and a friendly atmosphere, the Highlands and its surrounding areas are home to some of the best music, festivals and events.
Come to some of our many interpretive programs at the CBHNP during the summer and gain a true appreciation for the wildlife and nature surrounding us. Head out for some traditional Celtic music and dancing in the evenings at one of the many town pubs or get you’re toes tapping all evening at a ceilidh. Join in the fun at le Festival de l’Escaouette that takes place in nearby Chéticamp all summer-long or be dazzled by the dramatic colours of the rolling mountains as we celebrate the Celtic Colours International Music Festival. |

Geocaching is a modern treasure hunt – a new sport that is growing in popularity with people of all ages. Given the latitudinal and longitudinal co-ordinates, participants use their GPS (Global Positioning System) unit to locate the hidden “cache,” a small box with a logbook to record their visit.
Cape Breton Highlands is pleased to offer four geocaches:
-
Ecocache - Find all five official park caches to earn a limited-edition geocoin.
-
Middle Head Multi-cache - Explore this historic peninsula, site of the Keltic Lodge.
-
Boomer's Campground Kid Caches – Discover geocaching in the Chéticamp and Broad Cove Campgrounds.
-
Earthcache for the Earth Science buffs.
